OPERA-tion Arts 2014

A Free Program in Local Schools

OPERA-tion Arts is a free, interactive education program that culminates in an opera-inspired art show at The Cooperstown Art Association.  Students learn about opera and theater, when Glimmerglass staff members join area second grade classes to offer a multi-media presentation on opera.  The students then illustrate their impressions of the art form, producing everything from drawings of performers, scenic and costume elements to sketches of original operas.

The exhibit opens September 26, with a complimentary reception.

This event helps celebrate National Opera Week, coordinated by OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, with support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
