Accounting/Finance 1 position. Early May-late Aug. Assist Accounting/Finance Department with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Participate in preparation of month-end financial reports, as well as general finance office administration. Accounting or business administration focus preferred. Box Office 4 positions. Mid May - Aug. 24. Responsible for ticket sales, patron services, and preparation of income reports. Interns will also assist with VIP requests and coordinating group activities. Must enjoy assisting people, have excellent phone and personal manner, and be computer literate. Customer service experience and good sense of humor is helpful.
Development 4 positions. Early May-late Aug. Assist with administration and execution of summer fundraising programs and events, with an emphasis on prospect research, analysis of prospective donors and the subsequent one-on-one engagement of selected patrons. Following research and strategic analysis, duties include hosting patrons at pre-performance picnics, performances, in the VIP Intermission Club and during other festival programs. Duties also include assisting donors and prospects with VIP performance tickets, lodging or other needs prior to their visits via phone or email, as well as helping with general development administration and long-range projects, such as grant preparation. Successful interns will be energetic, fast-working, computer literate and have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a good sense of humor. Graphic design, publishing/editing experience a plus.
General Administration 1 position. Late May-late Aug. Assist Office Manager in daily operations of administrative office. Duties include coordination of communication center; mail processing and distribution; reception duties, shipping and receiving; and assisting other administrative departments with special projects. Must have valid driver's license with clean record, congenial personality, excellent phone manner, and sense of humor. Knowledge of Microsoft Office helpful.
House Management 1 position. Late May-late Aug. Assist House Manager with management of theater and secondary venues to ensure audience comfort and safety; solicit, schedule and train volunteer ushers. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prior house management experience a plus.
Housing and Transportation 3 positions. Early May-late Aug. Assist in department responsible for the housing, transportation, and other practical concerns of singers, directors, designers and general personnel. Must be able to deal positively and tactfully with a variety of logistical arrangements vital to the company. Must be computer literate, team-oriented, flexible and energetic. Driver's license with clean driving record required.
Information Technology 1 position. Early May to late Aug. Install, update and support Windows/Apple software and hardware; function as Help Desk support, responding to end user requests via phone, in person and electronically; map network drives and printers, monitor systems and network status; run preventative maintenance. In-depth knowledge of MS Office 2010 required. Knowledge of Windows and Mac OSX support a must. Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs. Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Marketing 1 position. May 19-August 24. Assist the Marketing Director with preparation and distribution of gift shop merchandise, season promotions, research and analysis of ticket sales data. Manage and staff the gift shop at all performances. Must have a close attention to detail, congenial public manner and computer skills in Microsoft Office programs. Adobe Creative Suite and Quickbooks POS experience helpful, but not required. Applicants unavailable for the full duration of the internship will not be considered.
Photography 1 position. Late May-August 24. Assist company photographer and public relations department to produce publicity and archival photographs of the season's productions and events; maintain photo files. Proof of excellent photography skills and knowledge of PhotoShop required. Requires strong independent work-ethic, strong communication skills and high degree of professionalism; must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Public Relations 1 position. Late May-August 24. Assist with preparation and distribution of press materials; work with members of the media and the general public; maintain social media networks and provide blog copy. Staff the audience services/press desk at all performances. Must have an excellent attention to detail, good writing and proofreading skills, congenial public manner and computer skills in Microsoft Office programs. Driver’s license with clean driving record required.
Video Intern 1 position. Early June-August 24. Create video and audio projects for promotional, archival and educational purposes both on-and off-line. Video may range from archival and documentary to commercial-style. Responsibilities include video-taping, editing, creatively producing and distributing finished video products. Requires knowledge of Final Cut Pro and exporting for the web and DVD; requires a high degree of professionalism, strong independent work-ethic, excellent communication skills, punctuality and a positive attitude.
