Artistic Administration Internships
Work with leading administrators and artists in the industry with an internship in The Glimmerglass Festival's Artistic Administration Department.
Artistic administration internships may also offer the opportunity to perform as a member of The Glimmerglass Festival Chorus, if interested.
Artistic Administration Intern 1 position. May 18 - Aug 23. This position works closely with Company Management as well as the Director of the Young Artists Program. The day-to-day operations will consist of copying, filing, data entry and artist management as well as coordinating and processing VIP ticket requests for the Artistic Department. You will also assist the scheduling manager with the daily schedule. Assist with scheduling of the Young Artists auditions and general correspondence of VIPs. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with a creative team and with other interns. This position requires sound judgment, initiative, excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Editing and computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite a must. Position will include weekends and some evenings. The Doris P. Music Intern 2 positions. June 1 - Aug. 23. Assist Music Administrator and Librarian with researching, copying and distributing music; locating, hiring and transporting instruments. This position will require heavy lifting; rehearsal room and orchestra pit set-up; attendance at orchestra rehearsals and performances. Must be reliable and flexible, with good interpersonal and organizational skills and a background in music. Driver’s license with clean record required.
Young Artists Resident Administration Intern 2 positions. May 18 - Aug. 28. Assist Resident Manager in scheduling and providing transportation for the Young Artists. We are seeking motivated, responsible individuals with an enthusiasm for the arts. Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, flexibility, reliability and discretion; opportunity to collaborate and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team of artists. Computer literacy with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a plus. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Housing provided at Young Artists’ residence.
Company Management Intern 2 positions. May 18 - Aug. 23. Assist Company Manager in day-to-day operations, scheduling, filing, basic office duties. Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, flexibility, reliability and discretion; must have the ability to work collaboratively with a creative team and with other interns. Computer literacy with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a plus. These positions will also be responsible for child wrangling and attending all rehearsals when children are present; assist with scheduling for children’s rehearsals; work closely with Company Manager to coordinate paperwork for child performers. A valid driver’s license with a clean record required.
