COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (March 8, 2010) – Single tickets to Glimmerglass Opera’s 2010 Festival go on sale Monday, March 15, 2010. Puccini’s Tosca, Copland’s The Tender Land, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and the U.S. professionally-staged premiere of Handel’s Tolomeo will run in repertory in the Alice Busch Opera Theater, July 9 through August 24, 2010.
Glimmerglass Opera’s 2010 Festival ticket prices are lower than ticket prices in recent years. In 2009, ticket prices started at $58. This summer, a ticket costs as little as $26, and an opera-goer can attend all four productions for as little as $68. Beginning March 15, Glimmerglass Opera offers $10 tickets for youths, aged 6-18, accompanied by an adult. Students with valid identification receive a 50-percent discount; seniors receive a 10-percent discount. Educators with valid identification receive a 35-percent discount. Discounts may not be combined and are not valid on prior purchases. Proof of age, residency, student status and occupation may be required.
