Glimmerglass-JessicaKray-Scene-Shop-8033-resizedGreetings, everyone, and welcome to the world of The Glimmerglass Festival. For those of you who remember me from last year, I congratulate you on being one of the four people who read my blog last year! For the vast majority of you: stop what ya doing, ‘cause I’m about to ruin, the image and the style that ya used to.

My name is Emmet and I am a Carpentry/Rigging Intern here at Glimmerglass. This is my second year here. Like last year, I’m going to be giving you an inside look at what we do here at Glimmerglass, specifically what happens in the scene shop and onstage, which are the places I work most frequently. I’ll explain some of the building and rigging practices we do, as well as some of my projects, all in the simplest terms possible.

“All aboard the information train—next stop, Glimmerglass! Please keep hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, keep your eyes forward. . . BZZZT! We’re sorry, you’re connection has been unexpectedly terminated. If you would like to continue reading, please try again next week. Management thanks you for your patience and hopes to see you again.”
