King for a Day

July 21 - August 24, 2013

Giuseppe Verdi’s second opera centers on a royal replacement who, in addition to serving as a decoy for the king, effects the happy coupling of two young lovers and secures a pretty widow as his own bride.

This new production of Verdi's rarely-seen comic opera, directed by Christian Räth, celebrates the composer's 200th birthday.

Presented in a new English adaptation by Kelley Rourke. With projected supertitles.

This production is generously underwritten by Elizabeth M. and Jean-Marie R. Eveillard.
