The Glimmerglass Festival is proud to announce the return of two community-driven initiatives for the 2025 season: Neighbors’ Nights, offering discounted tickets for local audiences, and Midday Music, a series of free performances designed to bring world-class music to the community.
Neighbors’ Nights: A Special Invitation to the Local Community
Throughout the summer, select performances are designated as Glimmerglass Neighbors’ Nights! On these special nights, local patrons can experience the magic of the Festival at a reduced rate, just $35 (+ fees) for any seat in the Alice Busch Opera Theater. With every seat in the 918-seat theater less than 70 feet from the stage, patrons enjoy an intimate and acoustically rich experience no matter where they sit.
Neighbors’ Nights audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy performances of Sunday in the Park with George (July 17 & August 10) and Tosca (August 7 & August 14). These productions, featuring world-class casts, stunning sets, and unforgettable music, offer an unparalleled opportunity for the local community to immerse themselves in the Festival’s artistry at an accessible price.
Neighbors’ Nights tickets are available for purchase until June 30, 2025, or until sold out. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of season sponsor Jacqueline B. Mars. Thanks to her support, Glimmerglass can offer these deeply discounted tickets, ensuring that the arts remain accessible to all and reinforcing the Festival’s commitment to its surrounding community.

Midday Music: Free Performances in the Heart of the Community
By popular demand, the Festival is bringing back Midday Music, a series of free, intimate concerts held throughout the summer. Midday Music showcases personal stories and favorite repertoire from this season’s Resident Artists, presented at some of Otsego County’s most beautiful venues. Each concert program is a surprise and announced from the stage. These unique concerts take the world-class artistry of the Festival beyond the theater, offering audiences the chance to experience classical, operatic, and musical theater selections in beautiful venues throughout the Cooperstown region. Whether stopping by during a lunch break or making an afternoon outing of it, audiences will be treated to stunning vocal performances. The 2025 Midday Music schedule includes performances at noon on June 26 at Cherry Valley Artworks, July 10 at Christ Church in Cooperstown, July 24 at First Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown, and August 7 at the Ballroom of the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown.
“It’s important that our artists get to tell their own stories, as well as the stories we feature on our mainstage,” said Ainsley. “Each Midday Music program is personally curated by one of our esteemed Guest Artists and features the world-class talents of our Resident Artists and Music Staff. These concerts are all about connection, offering a window into the lives, musical tastes, and favorite party pieces of some of the country’s finest singers and pianists.”
