In honor of Francesca Zambello’s leadership of The Glimmerglass Festival, the Board of Trustees announced that she will receive the title of Artistic and General Director Emerita. Zambello served as Artistic and General Director of The Glimmerglass Festival from 2011-2022.
Current Artistic and General Director, Rob Ainsley, wrote, “We are all grateful for the great legacy she built here over her extraordinary tenure. I am most grateful for the tireless, passionate staff gathered around her who realized her vision each day with such care and skill.”
Chair of the Board Robert Nelson said conferring this title is “one of the joyous tasks” of chairing the Board of Trustees, and he thanked her again for her exceptional artistic and organizational contributions to the Festival.
Zambello joins past leaders including Artistic Director Emeritus Paul Kellogg, Music Director Emeritus Stewart Robertson, Associate Artistic Director Emeritus John Conklin and Founding Music Director Charles Schneider.
