We would be remiss if we did not take the opportunity to feature our wonderful Young Artists. The 2020 Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists have completed a comprehensive online six-week curriculum this summer, with extensive preparation for online auditions. We put together a robust educational program for our Young Artists (YAPs) virtually this summer from July 6 until August 13. The YAPs were able to participate in specialized classes, Q&A sessions, and individual coachings. Bill Burden and Isabel Leonard have been serving as Artists in Residence, coaching and mentoring YAPs, and participating in Q&A sessions. Guests for Q&A sessions have included Francesca Zambello, Joseph Colaneri, Eric Owens, Renee Fleming, Jeanine Tesori, Alyson Cambridge, Russell Thomas, Kenneth Kellogg, and Gayletha Nichols.
To culminate this engaging summer, the Young Artists have contributed to an end-of-season showcase. Join us on YouTube for the opportunity to view the performances our Young Artists recorded at the end of their summer intensive. You’ll hear works ranging from Die Walküre to Avenue Q, from Francesca da Rimini to Manon.
