Saturday, July 18, 2026: Update Regarding the 7:30 p.m. Performance of OKLAHOMA!
The 7:30 p.m. performance of Oklahoma! has been moved to the Cooperstown Central School N.J. Sterling Auditorium. 📍39 LINDEN AVENUE, COOPERSTOWN, NY 13326.
Thank you for your patience as we monitored today’s air quality conditions. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to perform tonight’s scheduled production of Oklahoma! in the Alice Busch Opera Theater due to unhealthy air quality. Because our theater is naturally ventilated and open to the surrounding environment, outdoor air quality directly affects the health and safety of our singers, musicians, crew, staff, and audience.
Rather than cancel tonight’s performance, we are pleased to share that for one evening, we are returning to where our story began. Tonight we will present a special concert version of Oklahoma! at 7:30 p.m. at the Cooperstown Central School N.J. Sterling Auditorium.

While we are disappointed that we cannot present tonight’s fully staged production, we are grateful to have this wonderful partner just down the road. The Glimmerglass Festival’s earliest seasons were performed at Cooperstown High School, and the Festival has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the Cooperstown Central School District, whose students, faculty, and families have been part of our community for generations. We are deeply appreciative of the District for opening its doors on short notice so that we can continue to share live music with you this evening.
This one-night-only presentation will feature the cast and orchestra performing the score and story of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical in a concert setting, without costumes or sets (but with plenty of dancing and drama!). Your current ticket will be honored for admission to the concert. Seating at Cooperstown Central School will be general admission, and our staff will be on hand to assist patrons upon arrival. Seating is limited, so we encourage our local audiences to exchange to a different performance date.
